Who is Yoong Heng?

Born 27 July 1983, the 1st born of Albert Ng & Kristine Chong & the 1st grandson of the Ng family. Given the name, Ng Yoong Heng  aka Huang Yung Xing, meaning forever happy / prosperous by his grandfather. One facial attribute of this little boy as he grew was his very prominent mole at the center of his face right between his nose and upper lip. From a very young age, you would notice he has the gift of the gap and was very playful. Very much loved and spoiled by his parents he was lavished with toys and branded children clothing, as his family was pretty much well to do in those days.

His kindergarten days were his most sweetest & memorable ones. It was there that he discovered his interest in performing on stage and that his love for talking and self expression. Also his love for Art, as he learnt how to draw & color, spurred even further as his parents often praised his creativity. In this early stage of his childhood was also how he discovered feelings towards the opposite sex, as he had a girl friend/neighbor name Yvonne, whom he carpool with and mostly paired up with during line ups. The sweetest memory of he had of her was his 1st view of the rainbow with her during art class.

 In primary school, things started to change alot. As far as he could recall, the kids were mean to him, due to his mole, they teased constantly and called him names as “ugly” and “weird” looking, it didn’t take long before most of all his friends would think twice before hanging out with him. It may even be said that those early years of rejection scarred him pretty deep. With not much of a self-esteem already, he began his desperate search for acceptance and friendship. Concerning his studies, he was constantly at the bottom of his class when it came to grades, fails to finish his homework and every now and then taken out of class to see the discipline teacher and head master. “Rotan” & Public punishment/humiliation was a norm back in those days. By this it’s pretty much obvious that even at home his parents weren’t happy with him either, nagging, scolding & punishment was daily routine.

But Thankfully in the midst of all these trials in his primary schools years, God sent him a saint, his teacher Ms Yeo, a believer of Christ. It was her who showed him that “Only those who love you most and genuinely care for you will scold you and teach you harshly in order you become better and learn from you mistakes.”. It was also her who 1st truly introduced to him the idea that God loves him.
